Memorial and Honorarium Fund of Wesley Church monetary gifts in the name of a loved one, deceased or living, are welcome to enhance Wesley's mission: Building a vibrant Christian community from the heart of Aurora. These gifts may be designated by the family so honored to be used for projects not in the church budget. Suggested areas for designated use are church equipment or furnishings, education, mission, music and worship ministries, or at the discretion of the memorial committee.
Ideas and needs are brought forth by church committees or staff members. The memorial committee reviews and prioritizes suggestions, communicates with donor families regarding a project and forwards that proposal to the Board of Trustees for confirmation. This year's completed projects have included: restringing and refurbishing the harpsichord and purchasing a TV set and DVD player for both the library and first floor education programs. Projects in progress are additional stage lighting, an audio-visual transmitter and a wiring connection from contemporary worship to the comfort nook and parlor, as well as an over-the-ear microphone.
The committee is busy updating names of persons memorialized by gifts to the Memorial Record in the narthex. These gifts have enhanced Wesley's ministry through worship, education, mission, or have promoted the beauty and better use of our building.
