Praise Music At Wesley

Wesley’s Praise Team was formed in 2003 in response to a desire to add contemporary music to our worship services. Using the United Methodist hymnal supplement (The Faith We Sing) and many other sources of contemporary Christian music, this group leads the congregation in singing praise songs and hymns that have been written in the past few decades.  

On the third Sunday of each month, our 10:15 a.m. worship service is filled with contemporary music and most recently, has been held in the church Social Hall.  This allows for a more relaxed atmosphere where worshipers can sit closer together, have a cup of coffee and participate in hands-free singing with song lyrics projected onto a screen. 

The Praise Team is comprised of several vocalists and instrumentalists, usually using guitar, bass guitar, percussion and keyboard for accompaniment. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings and Sunday mornings prior to the worship service.

Those who participate in this ministry count it a real joy to learn, present and teach heart-felt music from contemporary composers as we seek to bring ourselves fully into the presence of God through worship.
