Job Purpose: Guide and implement the strategy for all communications, marketing, and public relations messages for the church. Ensure articulation of church’s brand and position remain consistent and positive internally and externally. Have primary responsibility for updating membership records and pulling information for reports and projects. Work must be consistent with the vision, mission, and core principles of Wesley United Methodist Church and reflect both excellence and servanthood.
Immediate Supervisor: Administrative Coordinator
Final Amenability: Pastor
Cooperative Relationships: This part-time employee will be considered Church professional staff [paid servant] and will work with and under the direction of the Administrative Coordinator. This employee will work as a team member with the Pastor, coordinators, church staff, and congregational volunteers. To the extent that the Pastor may have connectional responsibilities within the Conference or the General Boards of the Church, the Marketing and Communications Specialist will cooperatively work with persons in the larger church.
Suggested hours: Work 20 hours per week by holding regular office hours Monday – Friday and attending church events to capture content for marketing and communication pieces.
