Joint Worship Services
Throughout the year, we hold joint worship services on a Sunday at 10:00am. When we hold a joint service, it is a chance for members of our traditional 9:00am service to meet members of the contemporary 11:00am service.
About Traditional Worship
Our Classic (Traditional) Worship service is at 9:00am on Sunday mornings. We meet in the sanctuary with its beautiful art-glass and stained-glass windows and magnificent organ. The bulletin includes hymns sung during service accompanied by the organ and sometimes piano. Hymns can also be found in the United Methodist Hymnal and The Faith We Sing. The Chancel Choir and Adult Handbell choir often provide special music during the worship service.
Creeds, litanies, prayer and responsive readings are a part of every service. Communion is served on the first Sunday of every month. Our pastor, Rev. John Bell, leads the worship service along with the help of a liturgist (Bible scripture reader).
Following the worship service, everyone is invited to join in fellowship and food in the parlor. This is a great time to talk to members of the congregation from both classic and contemporary services.
Music at the Traditional Service
Chancel Choir – The Wesley Chancel Choir is a group of persons who love to sing and give their song to the Lord. They sing two times each month presenting a wide variety of styles of music, from Renaissance to modern gospel music. On occasion they join with choirs from other churches for major works, as well. The age range is from high school to adults of all ages. Rehearsals are held on Wednesday evenings beginning at 7:00pm.
Sanctuary Bells – This group of adults meets weekly to prepare uplifting music to add to the worship service playing handbells. Most of the players have music reading experience, enabling the Bell Choir to prepare more challenging and praise-worthy pieces for the worshiper. They meet weekly on Wednesday evenings, beginning at 6:00pm.
All instrumentalists and vocalists are welcome to offer their talents as soloists or as members of small ensembles. Contact Felicia Patton for more information.

About Contemporary Worship
Our Contemporary Worship service is held at 11:00am in the Gathering Place on Sunday mornings. The atmosphere is relaxed with chairs and dimmed lighting. Words to music are projected on a large screen (printed bulletins are available). The music is led by Cindy Chase and the Praise Team.
Worship often includes a media message (video), drama presentation, children’s choir presentation, and special music by our Praise choirs. The Praise Team consists of keyboard, bass guitar, percussion, guitar and singers.
Come early for education at 10:00am and join us in the parlor for fellowship with food and drinks!

Children & Worship
Children are always welcome in worship! We strongly believe in including children in worship as early as possible. The contemporary worship service offers a special message for children.
Wesley Church welcomes everyone, including children, to the table of Christ. In the United Methodist tradition, Wesley celebrates a fully open, inclusive communion table.
During the 11:00am service, we offer Children’s Church in our chapel for children ages 3 through 5th grade. The children hear a Bible story, sing songs and worship in a way designed just for children.
If you feel your young child is not quite ready for church we have a nursery with a quality, trained care giver available from 9:00am – 12:15pm.
If you wish to stay with your child there is a family friendly room, The Comfort Nook, behind the balcony for children to play while the parents can still participate in the 9:00am worship. During the 11:00am worship the Parlor is located directly behind the Gathering Place and is wired with sound from the worship service.
