When are your worship services and what are they like?
9:00am Traditional Worship Service – This is a service of worship that is more traditional in its use of hymns, readings and music. Meets in the Sanctuary.
11:00am Contemporary Worship Service – A worship service that is characterized by music expressions in today’s Christian music as well as the use of contemporary media. A more casual service where you can bring in food and drinks while you worship. Meets in the Gathering Place.
Whether traditional or contemporary worship, you will find ways to connect with God and enrich your faith journey.
What about my children?
Children are always welcome in worship! We strongly believe in including children in worship as early as possible. Both services offer a special message for children.
What should I wear?
At Wesley you should dress as you are comfortable. God cares that you are in church, not what you are wearing! You will find people in jeans, casual dress, and in suits.
Do I have to put money in the offering plate?
If you are visiting with us, or a first time guest, we don’t expect you to put money in the offering. You are welcome to just let it pass you by, or you may give an offering if you wish. If you consider Wesley your church home, we’d love for you to prayerfully consider giving a monetary offering for God’s work through Wesley Church.
We do ask that you please take time to fill out the Connection Card found in your bulletin and place it in the offering plate or basket when it comes.
Who can take communion?
Wesley Church welcomes everyone, including children, to the table of Christ. In the United Methodist tradition, Wesley celebrates a fully open, inclusive communion table.
Communion is offered the first Sunday of every month in both worship services.
Please take your time to focus on the presence of God at this special moment. The open communion table is a place where God’s grace is freely given. Our prayer is that this moment of communion will have a powerful impact on your life.
What do I do after the worship service is over?
At 10:00am we have coffee, juice and food refreshments available in the first floor parlor. It is open for a full hour to enjoy conversation. Many times there will be opportunities to learn of upcoming events in the life of the church. You can also take your food and coffee to go, and visit our adult Bible study in the Pastor’s office.
After the 11:00am service we like to talk! About our kids, our work, what’s been going on this week, the worship we just experienced, anything!
Do you have Bible Studies and Sunday School?
Yes! There is an adult Bible study called “Faith Link” that takes current events and explores their connections to our faith. There is also Sunday School for children ages 3 – 5th grade on the third floor and youth 6th – 12th grade on the 2nd floor above the kitchen.
